Statement of Accounts
The Statement of Accounts give electors, local taxpayers, members of the Council, employees and other interested parties comprehensive information about the Council's finances.
The 2022/23 Statement of Accounts presents the overall financial position of the Council for the year ended 31 March 2023. The unaudited Accounts were authorised for issue by the Director of Resources, Westmorland and Furness Council on 7th July 2023. The Westmorland and Furness Council Audit Committee received the audited Accounts and the Grant Thornton Audit Findings Report on 11th December 2023. The Committee delegated to the Director of Resources (Section 151 Officer) in consultation with the Chair to sign on behalf of the Westmorland and Furness Council the 2022/23 Statement of Accounts for Cumbria County Council and Cumbria subject to any minor amendments and no significant changes; The audited Accounts were authorised for issue on 12th February 2024.

Annual Governance Statement
The Annual Governance Statement sets out the main features of the Council's corporate governance arrangements and its effectiveness. The draft Annual Governance Statement for 2022/23 has been considered by the Cumbria County Council Audit and Assurance Committee on 9 March 2023. The final Annual Governance Statement was approved by the Westmorland and Furness Council Audit Committee on 11th December 2023.
