  • The Snow Queen in Kendal
The Snow Queen in Kendal - a family friendly spectacle of theatre, music, puppetry and dance. This exciting Christmas show tells the story of Gerda's journey to find her old friend, Kay, and to rescue him from the frozen bonds of The Snow Queen, who wants to bring a permanent winter to Kendal and the surrounding countryside. Hans Christian Andersen's original fairy tale has been adapted for stage by director, Ginny Moss, and features puppetry, music, dance and theatre. Gerda meets many strange creatures and has many exciting adventures in her quest to stop The Snow Queen, so expect fast-paced storytelling, ensemble fun, physical theatre with audience participation, and an original script with a Kendalian/Cumbria twist.
    VENUE: Kendal Town Hall
    DATE:  6th - 8th December 2023
    TIME: 19:30
  • Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden
Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden combine their considerable talents and reputations within the UK folk scene, for the first time ever touring as a duo for a nationwide wassail across key venues. Presenting seasonal, traditional material on a stage decorated for the occasion, they will take audiences back to some of the oldest songs in the English canon, telling Christmas tales, spreading good cheer and lighting up the darkest days of the year, ahead of Christmas Day itself.
    VENUE: Brewery Arts
    DATE:  7th December 2023
    TIME: 19:30 - 22:00
  • Classic Drive and Ride In Day
Join lots of proud classic vehicle owners as they bring their private vehicles to display outside the Lakeland Motor Museum. Bring your own classic, or simply turn up to view the 100s on display. The FREE event has a real festival-like atmosphere with lots of classic cars, motorbikes, vans and trucks on show, as well as more modern superminis and high-performance sports cars. Meet the owners, find out more about the cars and join in the festive fun. The museum is open all day with their permanent collection open as usual (discounted entry for participating classic owners and passengers on the day) and the riverside cafe is also open serving hot drinks, meals (more turkey anyone?) and snacks. Everyone is welcome!
