  • Classic Drive and Ride In Day
    Join lots of proud classic vehicle owners as they bring their private vehicles to display at Lakeland Motor Museum. The event is FREE to all. + Bring your own classic vehicle The event is open to the proud owners of classic cars, trucks, vans and motorbikes as well as more recent hot hatches, superminis and high-performance sports cars. There is no need to book and there is plenty of free parking for owners to display their pride and joy. Participating drivers and their passengers will also receive discount admission vouchers to the museum itself. + No classic vehicle necessary You don't have to own a classic to attend, simply come along and join in and soak up the atmosphere. View the private cars on display, take a visit to the museum or grab some refreshments at the riverside cafe. Everyone is welcome to attend. + Lots to see and do Previous events saw almost 100 cars and motorcycles come together to provide a diverse display of favourite marques

    Deep in the African jungle lives a reclusive tribe of apes - the Mangani tribe. Led by Chief Kerchak, the Mangani are the missing link between apes and humans and have been legend for centuries. However, when a shipwrecked baby is left alone in the jungle by the death of his parents, things are about to change. Especially when Kala, the matriarch of the Mangani, adopts the boy as her own and names him Tarzan. Now, in 1912, things are about to change. Tarzan has grown into a young man and is now the protector of his family, but when a group of strangers arrive they threaten everything he knows to be true. Why do these strangers look like him, and do they hold the answers to where he truly belongs? The group will deliver a healthy dose of Hip Hop, Funk and mellow Jazz tones wrapped up in a dynamic live performance, carefully curated, and designed to satisfy the masses and the most reproachful Rap aficionado.

  • Voices of Swing
    The 30-piece Down for the Count Orchestra return to The Coro in Ulverston with "a sonic ride back to the to the sounds of Capitol Studios in the 1950s) as they play timeless classics from The Great American Songbook. Composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael and Irving Berlin transformed the art of popular song in the first half of the 20th Century, providing the material that would spring artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat 'King' Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Judy Garland, and many more to international stardom. The music of these great artists and composers will be brought to life by Down for the Count's Orchestra, featuring some of the UK's top emerging musicians and arrangers under the baton of musical director Mike Paul-Smith. The orchestra preserve and protect the musical heritage of these unforgettable songs, whilst also looking to the future by presenting original arrangements of classic standards written by members of the orchestra.
