    We are celebrating Empathy Day throughout June. Empathy Day is a national celebration of the power of reading to transform our lives and our understanding of each other.   • A Day in the Lakes Triathlon
    A stunning and challenging race over either half-ironman or quarter-ironman distance in the most beautiful corner of the country, The Lake District National Park. A superb venue with camping and caravanning right on the transition field next to the lake. It's a great place to bring the family for a weekend with many local attractions very near-by. With two race distances to choose from its also ideal for club trips. The swim is in crystal clear Ullswater, the cycle route is along beautiful undulating and mainly quiet roads with no major climbs. The run is mostly off-road over low fell paths with some fabulous views across the lakes.

  • White Rose Classic 2019
    On Sunday 23 June 2019 - the longest Sunday of the year - the annual White Rose Classic cycling sportive will visit Cumbria. The event features 3 routes: - Grassington Short Route 48 miles - Settle Medium Route 85 miles - Hawes Long Route 120 miles All routes leave from Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The Hawes Long Route enters Cumbia at Garsdale Head. From there, they climb over Coal Road into Dentdale. For the first time in 2019 the event turns down Dentdale and then climbs over Deepdale, before leaving Cumbria in Kingsdale, above Ingleton. All routes are fully signed, with amply-stocked feed stations, roving mechanical and medical support. An after-ride meal is included, and riders can relax at the after-ride party with local beers, ice cream and other treat.     Oddsocks Productions return to Workington Hall with a free outdoor performance of Midsummer Night's Dream. Not for 1 night but for 2! There is no charge to watch either performance and there is no need to book, just turn up!     A stunning and challenging race over either half-ironman or quarter-ironman distance in the most beautiful corner of the country, The Lake District National Park. A superb venue with camping and caravanning right on the transition field next to the lake. It's a great place to bring the family for a weekend with many local attractions very near-by. With two race distances to choose from its also ideal for club trips. The swim is in crystal clear Ullswater, the cycle route is along beautiful undulating and mainly quiet roads with no major climbs. The run is mostly off-road over low fell paths with some fabulous views across the lakes.

    On Sunday 23 June 2019 - the longest Sunday of the year - the annual White Rose Classic cycling sportive will visit Cumbria. The event features 3 routes: - Grassington Short Route 48 miles - Settle Medium Route 85 miles - Hawes Long Route 120 miles All routes leave from Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The Hawes Long Route enters Cumbia at Garsdale Head. From there, they climb over Coal Road into Dentdale. For the first time in 2019 the event turns down Dentdale and then climbs over Deepdale, before leaving Cumbria in Kingsdale, above Ingleton. All routes are fully signed, with amply-stocked feed stations, roving mechanical and medical support. An after-ride meal is included, and riders can relax at the after-ride party with local beers, ice cream and other treat.
