Peatbog Faeries
Doors 8pm | Tickets £18.50 | Malt Room Standing Peatbog Faeries celebrated their 25th Anniversary in 2016 on the back of the critically acclaimed album Blackhouse, and 2017 saw the release of a live album Live@25. Their new studio album was launched in the autumn of 2020. Hailing from the Isle of Skye, the legendary Scottish trailblazers have created a glorious mixture of traditional sounds and dance-floor grooves that have been embraced worldwide. Drawing upon a dazzling myriad of influences from jigs and reels through Dance Music, Jazz, African, and more, they bring the sound of Scotland fresh-faced and breathless to the new audiences around the world. Tea in the Trees: nature trail, creative writing and afternoon tea
Join children's author Alex Mullarky and creative freelancer Jessica Meagher on a gentle trail walk, finding inspiration for creative writing in the lush surroundings of Cumbria Wildlife Trust's Dubbs Moss nature reserve. In the meadow, we'll all sit down together to share thoughts on the whichever trees, flowers or wildlife we've spotted over a rousing picnic afternoon tea! This event is run in conjunction with our exhibition The World Beneath the Fells at Florence Arts Centre, Egremont (29 July - 4 Sept). Come check it out! Aimed at children aged 8-12 and their families - but all are welcome! Tickets are £5 per person and FREE for under 5s. The UK SUP Fest 2022 is the only national event dedicated to Stand Up Paddle-boarding (SUP) making it the 'must' event for the UK's paddle-boarding community. It's not only SUP we're celebrating, at our Makers and Bakers Retail Village we'll be celebrating the best Cumbria has to offer. You do not need to have read the book to enjoy the exhibition. -
Open-Air Midsummer Night's Dream
Wayfarers Theatre presents Midsummer Night's Dream, a lively and colourful OPEN-AIR adaptation of Shakespeare's much-loved tale of mischief, magic, and mishap. This approachable and inspiring family-friendly outdoor theatre adventure has been produced using sustainable theatre practices and guarantees an experience like no other. BRING A PICNIC to nibble on, sit back and enjoy live music and colourful costumes, a wonderful troupe of local performers and with any luck, some sunshine! The gate opens 45 minutes before the start time. Run time two hours+ including a 30 minute interval. Seating is NOT provided, blankets and camping chairs are encouraged, whatever you need to be comfortable! Regretfully, due to the nature of the venue, there is no disabled access. -
