On Tuesday 9 July: The Cumbrian Duo (guitar and harp).

Ed Heslam is a classical guitarist with a keen interest in the music of Cumberland and Westmorland. Born in Cumberland, he has been researching the music and history of the area and performing his own arrangements of old Cumbrian tunes copied from the original manuscripts held in local archives. Ed Heslam performs old Cumbrian music as a solo guitarist and as a duo, with harpist Jean Altshuler.

Jean Altshuler has played the harp since the age of seven. She received a harp scholarship to Oberlin Conservatory and a Master in Music from the University of Iowa. After twenty-seven years as principal harpist in several American orchestras, she moved to Cumbria in 1994. She performs and teaches in the area and is a founding member of Harps Northwest.
