< Return to calendar
Description
Star of the BBC Radio 4 series, Natalie Haynes Stands Up for the Classics, Natalie brings her unique combination of ancient history and stand-up comedy to take you on a
tour around the Trojan War, the setting for her latest novel A Thousand Ships. From the causes of the war to its complex aftermath, the stories of the women affected are largely untold but Natalie takes them out of the shadows and puts them where they belong - at the heart of the story. Natalie Haynes is a comedian, classicist, writer and broadcaster. She writes for the Guardian and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4 programmes including Natalie Haynes Stands Up for the Classics, now into its fifth series. She is the author of five books: her most recent novel, A Thousand Ships, was published in May this year.
