Event: Hunter Davies: Happy Old Me - Borderlines Book Festival

< Return to calendar
Description
Hunter missed last year's Borderlines festival as he had to have emergency triple heart bypass surgery. This year, the boy's back in town. After 55 years of marriage to Margaret Forster, three years ago Hunter was left on his own. How did he cope? Did he manage the dishwasher? Did he sell his Loweswater house? And did he find a new
chum? All will be revealed tonight when Hunter will be in conversation with Cumbria Life editor, Michaela Robinson-Tate. Hunter Davies was born in Renfrew, Scotland and brought up in Carlisle from the age of eight. He was educated at Durham University and is one of our best known and most prolific writers and journalists. Happy Old Me is his third volume of memoirs following The Co-op's got Bananas and A Life in the Day.
