Event: Alan Brown - Overland: A Bikepacking Journey - Borderlines Book Festival

< Return to calendar
Description
Seeking an escape from city life and a world gone mad, Alan Brown challenged himself to an off-road coast-tocoast ride through the Highlands without creature comforts or hightech cycling gear. This is the story of the ups and downs, from weather to wildlife, and the sheer pleasure he discovered in the freedom and self-reliance. Alan Brown has had a varied career including environmental chemistry, academia and freelance programming. As a director of the charity The Bike Station in Edinburgh, he is an advocate for cycling and its benefits to health and society. Overlander, his first book, has been greeted with both enthusiasm and critical acclaim.
