Pay less to travel by bus
As part of a Government initiative, a maximum £2 Single fare will apply on many bus services across Cumbria until 31 December 2024
Participating operators : Stagecoach; Blueworks; Cumbria Classic Coaches; Go North East; Kirkby Lonsdale Coaches; Western Dales Bus
Please note
- In line with the rules of the scheme the £2 fare does not apply on services which only run on Schooldays
- Only the operators listed above are participating in the scheme, so normal fares will continue to apply on all other services
Listed below are some sample fares for bus services. Visit the Stagecoach website for fares on other Stagecoach services.
Tickets can be bought from the driver with no need to pre-book.
Fares shown are valid on the direct services listed. If you make the journey using other services with a change of buses, fares are likely to be higher.
Some season tickets can be bought online in advance or by phone, but all tickets are also available from the driver on the bus, in cash or using contactless payments.
£ £ : For most journeys the special £2 discounted Single ticket (or two for a return trip) offers the best value for money
If travelling regularly please check that Day / Weekly / Season tickets do not offer better value for money

If you are traveling on more than one bus, a Day ticket normally often offer better value for money, whilst if you are travelling on more than one consecutive day, weekly tickets will offer further savings
