When preparing a local plan, the research and evidence used to inform policies - referred to as the Evidence Base- is examined by a planning inspector to test whether the plan is sound.  Following adoption of the Cumbria Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2015-2030  (CMWLP) in September 2017, we need to ensure our Evidence Base is updated to take account of any changes in national planning policy guidance or local circumstances.

The Annual Monitoring Report and Local Aggregates Assessment are produced each year.  These provide a regular update on minerals and waste planning issues within the county and can indicate whether further research is required on a particular topic.
