Specialist Youth Services

Restorative Justice (RJ) - Brings together people harmed by crime or conflict with those responsible for the harm caused, to find a positive way forward. RJ gives the victim the chance to tell offenders the real impact of their crime, get the answers to their questions and get an apology.

RJ holds offenders to account for what they have done. It helps them understand the real impact, take responsibility, and make amends.

Health and Wellbeing - working with young people under the age of 18 years who show substance misuse needs, with particular emphasis on alcohol, cannabis and New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).

This service is a first point of contact for young people in crisis in relation to substance misuse. Providing work around appropriate education, harm reduction and risk taking behaviour  as well as support and guidance.

Homelessness 16/17- Supporting young people aged 16-17 years who present as homeless to navigate relevant services and ensure that integration is optimised, achieving the best outcome for the young person.

Through the delivery of effective prevention and multi-agency response at times of crisis we aim to improve outcomes for Cumbria young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Intervention Teams - Providing programmes of intervention to young people who are subject to Court orders, aged 10 to 18 years on a one to one basis or in group settings as well as those who are receiving early help services.

As part of the work, accredited educational packages (Open College Network-One Awards) are available, enhancing educational achievement and optimising employability.

Volunteers - We recruit and train Volunteers to support the delivery of a range of activities across our service and the Youth Offending Service.

Working with young people aged 10 to 18 years supporting learning, acting as a mentor, supervising young people on reparation and Unpaid work activities as well as promoting constructive leisure activities.

As a Volunteer you can sit on Referral Order panels were you as a community member decides what the young person will do as part of their Court Order.
