The Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004 allow public authorities to charge for information supplied in response to access to information requests.
Please note that:
most of the council's information is freely available through our website or printed publications so it is worth checking prior to submitting a request;
other charges may apply for specialist enquiries or services (we will inform you about this where appropriate);
most information can be inspected in person at council offices by prior appointment;
where a fee applies, a cost notification will be issued and information will not be supplied until payment is received
Generally the council provides information in response to requests free of charge. However on some occasions we may need to charge you to cover our own disbursement costs, for example, photocopying, envelopes, postage and alternative media.
