Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings for Care Services Westmorland and Furness

The CQC carry out inspections of care services, they help to ensure care provided is safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality and encourage the sector to embrace best practice.

You can find reports and ratings of all our regulated services on the Care Quality Commission (CQC) website)

When inspecting our services, the regulator asks five key questions:

  • are they safe?
  • are they effective?
  • are they caring?
  • are they responsive to peoples needs?
  • are they well-led?

In most cases, CQC inspection reports include one of four ratings.  These ratings can assist you to make choices about care and compare services.  Those ratings are:

  • Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well
  • Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations
  • Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve
  • Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we have taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
