Katherine Woodfine is the bestselling author of the Sinclair's Mysteries and the Taylor and Rose Secret Agents series. Her first book, The Clockwork Sparrow, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, longlisted for the Branford Boase Award and nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal. Before becoming a children's author, Katherine worked for reading charity Book Trust on projects including the Children's Laureate and YALC, the UK's first Young Adult Literature Convention. She is currently part of the team behind children's books radio show and podcast Down the Rabbit Hole, and book reviewer for the magazine The Week Junior.


Events Format:

  • Author talk for a large group focusing on the Sinclair's Mysteries and Taylor and Rose Secret Agents, including creative writing tips (45 minutes to 1 hour) 
  • Creative writing workshop for a small group/single class - generating ideas to start writing your own mystery story (45 minutes to 1 hour)


N/B At the moment, I am only available for a limited number of school sessions each year, so I would recommend getting in touch well in advance if you are interested in making a booking.
